Integral parts made of aluminum can be machined at removal rates of 3000-4000 cm3/min. This yields enormous reductions in production times, and much lower costs for machining on light alloy and plastic, or copper and graphite electrodes, or other patterns.
Hard milling of steel dies with hardnesses of up to 68 HRC. In this application, HSC improves geometrical accuracy and surface finish (up to N6/N5), and allows entire process steps (usually EDM) to be eliminated.
